Welcome to West Asheville!

Kamden's FIRST home.
As most of you already know, we recently moved this month. With Keith close to finishing school, we knew that it was coming soon. The house has been on the market, but no takers just yet. We figured we would go ahead and get the hard part over with and move now so we wouldn't have to worry about it sneaking up on us. We were close to downtown Hendersonville, and we loved it there. It's a small town, not as many neighbors, and a safe place to raise a family. I was a little weary moving from there to West Asheville at first. Growing up, I just always thought of it as a big city-- with everything that goes with a city, like crime and traffic and everything. Being a new parent, I was immediately throwing up red flags. I warmed up as soon as we started moving in.

Kamden's FIRST room.
The moving process was a pain! It was hard to watch Kamden and get everything done. We had to get someone to watch him for a few hours here and there. Plus, do all of our packing at night after he went to bed. Finally, we just gave up the packing part and started throwing anything and everything in the moving truck. We were kind of sad to leave our home on Lyndhurst behind... because this is where we started our family. So many "FIRST" memories with Kamden. Like the day we brought him home from the hospital, his first bedroom/nursery, his first bath, our first dance, our first walks around the neighborhood, our first holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's, St. Patty's), his first time playing in the snow, his first word, his first tooth, and pretty much all the "first" major milestones and memories within his first year. Some of my favorites were all the lazy Sunday afternoons as a family. That house brought us all together, but I know as long as we have strong family ties, we can make any house a home.

Life is not a destination... it's a journey.
