8 MONTHS OLD

Kamden turned 8 months old today! Needless to say..... it's time to super baby proof the house. Little man is into EVERY little thing now. There hasn't been a huge noticeable leap from the last few weeks... but we've added a few milestones to the list.

Some of the things that are new to us this month:

• Talking up a storm in his own little baby language. Still mumbles crazy syllables. Has learned to squeal and exercise those vocal chords! He still says "Momma" and now knows to say it when he wants something. haha. He's added "Buh-Buh" and can sometimes wave and say it at the same time.
  


• Recently learned to wave bye-bye. Still loves to clap his hands, play patty cakes, and give high fives. You can say, "Gimme five" and he will!

• Size 3 Diapers still... although they are getting a little snug.

• Is starting to outgrow most of his size 6 month outfits and sleepers... but there's a few that still fit. Most of his clothes are 9 months now.
  
• Is up to Stage 3 foods... 3 times a day! Loves any kind of fruit in the morning. Especially if its mixed in with Oatmeal or Cereal. Veggies at lunch time... still loving those sweet potatoes the best! A meaty meal with vegetables at night. His favorites are Chicken Noodle, Vegetables and Beef & any kind of Italian-- like the Lasagna, Spaghetti, or Macaroni and Beef. He's really not too picky though. The only ones he turns his nose up too are Green Beans or Chicken and Stars.

• Still takes three 6 ounce bottles during the day, and one at night-- if he wakes up. Sometimes he sleeps through the night.

• Most of the time he sleeps for 11 hours at night. From about 8-9pm to 7-8am in the morning. If he wakes up, its generally around 4am for a few minutes.
  
• He has to have two lengthy naps per day. The first, mid morning from around 10-12ish. The other, mid afternoon around 3-5ish.

• He loves to feed himself! His favorite snacks are different flavors of Gerber puffs and biter cookies. He also likes the yogurt melts. We've also experimented with sweet peas at dinner time.

• He now has 6 teeth all the way in.... Four on the top, and two on the bottom.

• Kamden is now pulling up to the crawling position from time to time. He holds it for a few minutes and then falls down.

• He is starting to "scoot" his way around the house.... so anything in arms reach is at risk. haha.

• He has got the hang of his walker and gets around very well.

• His favorite toy is his "Driver"-- it can sit on the floor or on his walker tray. It has a steering wheel, gear changer, ignition-- that talks and plays music. He loves that thing!

• He would prefer anything peculiar over toys and baby things though. You give him a toy, he'd rather have your keys or the a piece of paper. haha. He's easily amused by anything odd or new to him.



• Still sitting up very well. Also stands when supported.



• Loves his "Johnny Jump Up" so he can bounce. When he's not in that he will still bounce up and down in your lap.

• Every little thing captures his attention. Pays attention to small details of things. Focuses in on the smallest items. Loves grass blades.... as you can see!

• Loves to mimic everything you do. Will make motor boat sounds with his mouth and blow bubbles.
  
  

My favorite thing this month has been how loving he is. He is starting to cuddle again and lay his head on your shoulders. Especially when he's sleepy. The first sign we know he's tired is when he starts rubbing those pretty blue eyes! He has also gotten to be a little shy lately around new people. It's so cute because he'll kinda lean his head down and look up at you with those puppy dog eyes.

We're looking forward to the next month. 9 Months is another big development stage. He will also have his check up, so we can't wait to see how much he has grown! I'm hoping to see him master crawling within the next month or so. Everything else seems to be on track to where he needs to be. We just keep thanking the Lord for blessing us each day with a beautiful, happy, and healthy little boy.
