a day of FESTIVALS.

Today was our FIRST day with our little ONE YEAR old!!! We had so much fun as a family together. Kamden's Daddy woke us all up, and we thew on some clothes and went to eat breakfast across town at IHOP (International House Of Pancakes). It was very yummy. Kamden had a big breakfast! Along with his normal rice cereal and baby food fruits... he had a few bites of scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, and strawberries!
After breakfast, we made a last minute decision to stop by downtown Asheville, NC to visit the LAAF (Lexington Avenue Arts Festival). We were in store for some unexpected FUN! We first stopped by my favorite store the Loft on Broadway Street, that has some really unique items to kids and adults of all ages. We bought Kamden The Tickle Monster book, with Tickle Mitts! When we put them on in the store and he started to giggle, we knew right away we had a winner! We also discovered a collapsible Junque Trunk by Bungalow Scout, that we might have to go back and purchase. A perfect toy box solution to all his cool new toys! We walked all around town, and everything was so interesting. They had arts and crafts on every block... along with live music, bands, dancers, actors, and artists-- you name it! I really regret forgetting my camera at home... because there were many perfect photo ops!

When we left, the baby fell asleep in the car. I wanted to take Kamden to his first annual Apple Festival in Hendersonville, NC (our hometown). Last year, we missed going for the first time, possibly ever, because we were in the hospital the entire Labor Day weekend. It's such a great place to take the kids, and I knew Kamden would love it. We met Kamden's Granny Terri and walked the streets all afternoon. Baby Kam tried his very first apple slushy and apple juice sipper that came in a plastic apple cup. He loved them both! Couldn't get enough!

We stopped at the old historic courthouse to watch a favorite local band of ours called, "Black Jack" they're actually a bunch of extremely talented 14 year olds. Kamden stood up, holding my hand, and danced to the music. He was having a good time! There was also a local artist who used to draw portraits of children at Walt Disney World. We stopped and let her draw a profile of little Kamden. Pretty good for a twenty minute sketch!

This whole weekend was absolutely beautiful. The weather was sunny and slightly windy, that gave it the crispness of the Fall season, just around the corner! It's our favorite time of year. We have a lot to look forward to in the next few months... especially with Kamden by our side.
