a whole new meaning to LABOR DAY.

We waited so long for this day to be here... the day my first son was born. I was sent into recovery for an hour after surgery. My body was completely out of commission, but I was the happiest I had ever been in my entire lifetime.

Our immediate family were able to come in to see the baby for the first time. My mom came in first. She was the happiest "Granny" I have ever seen! I have never seen her more proud than she was that day.

Then, Kamden's "Mammaw" Joyce, came in to see him next. She had to leave shortly after to go pick up Kamden's big brother Blake so that they could meet for the first time later than evening.

Then, both Grandfathers came in together... "Pappaw" Eddie and "Pap" Wayne. I was so tired and drugged up, but I was still able to get some wonderful pictures of all the special men in my life!

Then Kamden's Aunt Sheila and Amber came into to meet him for the first time... it was Amber's first time of ever holding a newborn and she was so excited. The sun was just about to go down... and I couldn't think of a more beautiful, picture perfect day to bring Kamden into the world.

Shortly after the recovery room, they took us down to our actual room-- where we would stay until Monday. Normally, we would be going home the next day... but with the surgery our stay was to last through the entire "LABOR DAY WEEKEND!" How ironic, huh? It is a weekend I will never forget...

Kamden's great Aunt Susan and cousins, Holly and Sarah Jacobs were waiting on us in the room... along with my oldest nephew, Blake Lyda and our good friend Jake. They had our whole room already showered with blue balloons, decorations, bubblegum cigars, flowers, and gifts.

It was such a special day... and I couldn't have imagined spending it with anyone else in the world.... my family and now my son, Kamden.
