ROAD TRIP to DC!

Kamden's grandmother, Terri, aka: "Granny" or "Queenie" is one of his best friends! She has helped us tremendously by watching Kamden, since he was 3 months old, through the week while we are at work and school. We are very fortunate, because we always know he is in good hands. Plus, who can we trust more than our own immediate family? Kamden just adores her and she loves him to peices. They are always finding something fun to get into!

This past week it was a little road trip to Capital Hill! The first stop was in Maryland at Point Lookout. It's a state park, that is surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. In 1862, during the Civil War, it was transformed into a union soiler prison of war camp, to hold confederate soilders captive. Over 4,000 lives were lost there, including some of our oldest ancestors.

On Saturday, October 9th Kamden went with his Granny to attend a big memorial there. Kamden was the topic of conversation, and some of the members brought him to the front of the crowd to show how important it is to pass along America's history to the youngest generations. It was a special day for them!

Today, they made their last big stop in downtown Washington, D.C.! Kamden got to go to the zoo for the FIRST time! Not just any zoo... but the National Zoo!!! They were there for over three hours.

Kamden's Granny was wore out, but Kamden seemed to want to stay longer! She said he loved it! He enjoyed watching all the different kinds of animals. She said he was pointing at them and calling them all "dogs" hehe. What a fun trip they had!

This is only the second time we have been away from our little baby since he has been born. We are so glad that he had a good time with his grandmother. We were able to catch up on things around the house, and for work and school. It was nice to have a little break, but we missed him so much this week! We have some family fun in store in the upcoming weeks, so there should be more exciting days ahead!
