100th Day of FIRST Grade!

Today was the 100th day of FIRST grade! Kamden's class dressed like they would if they were 100 years old and it was just too cute!

Kamden's 100th Day of FIRST Grade!
A few days prior Kamden and I scoured our local Goodwill stores for anything resembling an old man-- but no luck. So we just pulled what we could from our closet! Kamden wore his dad's newsboy cap we got in New York City on our engagement weekend a few years ago. Then Keith brought home some eye glasses from work that looked like something an old grandpa would wear. Fortunately Kamden already had a button up shirt, corduroy pants, suspenders and a tie to complete the look. To top it off, we threw a book in his hand and what better than Keith's latest read "An Old Man Named Ove" about a grumpy old man.

Too cool to be 100 years old!

Kamden said he was "too cool" for gray hair or a cane, so this was the best we could do on the last minute. Sadly, he is getting to that age where he thinks other people's opinions and thoughts matter. I say isn't first grade a bit young for this!?! and when did my little boy grow up on me and become almost too big to dress up for fun days like today!?!

The funnest part of the day was seeing this all in person! Baby Maelynn and I went to Kamden's school to eat lunch with him. We surprised Kamden and didn't tell him we were coming before so he was super excited to see us walk in the cafeteria. We really picked the perfect day for it because we were able to see all the other kids and teachers dressed up too and they all looked so incredibly adorable!

Kamden's new best friend and our neighbor Sherwin
When parents go to eat lunch with their kids at school, they get their own booth to the side. Kamden also got to pick a friend to sit with us and he chose his new best friend and our neighbor, Sherwin. he also lives in our new neighborhood and ironically also in Kamden's class this year. They had too much fun and so did we!
