FIRST trip to Chuck E. CHEEZE!
Since we have moved to Asheville, it is not always easy to make it to "our" church at Mud Creek Baptist in Hendersonville every week. It's at least a forty-five minute drive, and when we have time, it is worth every minute and mile to get there! We love it, and miss it very much. We still go sometimes, but not as often as we would like to. When we can't make it there, we have been going to Biltmore Baptist in Arden, which is only about 10 minutes or so. We enjoy going there as well. Every Sunday, Kamden has been attending children's church in "Praise Island" in the mornings. He is in a fun little play room with a handful of other one year olds. It's his first time being around other kids his age really. We think it's great for him to spend some time with them because we want him to develop socially as well. Anyways, the church was having a fundraiser event for global missionaries at Chuck E. Cheese tonight, so we thought it would give us a great reason to head over after work and school and support a great cause!
This was Kamden's FIRST trip to Chuck E's. It had moved across town to a new facility, since I had my first birthday party there a quarter of a century ago. haha. We ordered fresh pizza and watched a show for the kids over dinner. Kamden couldn't take his eyes off big Chuck E walking around! It wasn't the best food, but it was a ton of fun! Kamden kept pushing in the coin return on the ski ball machines. He couldn't ever figure out why nothing happened when he pushed all those buttons! He loved watching all the lights and games.
We took him over to the little rides for the young kids so he could play too. He watched the little ducklings go around in circles on one of the games, and started yelling "Duck!" really loud. He really enjoyed riding the little pony, car, and this seat that went up and around a clock on the wall. I helped him play some of the games where you catch popcorn and knock down chicken eggs to win tickets for prizes. He was having a blast!
Keith won us the most tickets when he hit the jackpot on this big game where the lights go around in a circle and you have to stop it on a certain bar. He hit one that spit out almost 200 tickets. When we went to leave, we ended up just shy of 300 tickets. We wanted to trade them in for a prize, but there wasn't anything under 300 tickets that Kamden wouldn't choke on. haha. So we are thinking about taking him and his big brother Blake back soon, to win more tickets for bigger prizes! It just gives us another excuse to be kids again too... plus, Kamden loves it!
